This also means that Honda can pack their infotainment system with features and not overwhelm with menus, lists, and buttons. Speaking of buttons, we now have a knob for volume but not one for tuning radio stations. This is a change for vehicles like the Pilot that had no physical buttons for a few years. Honda at least does an incredible job at making their steering wheel buttons intuitive and easy to use.
After a couple of days in a new Honda vehicle, the steering wheel-mounted controls become second nature and can be operated without much thought at all. The screens themselves are bright, colorful, and offer clear views from most angles. Swiping between menus and zooming in and out on maps is intuitive, as most of us have become accustomed to using the same motions on our mobile devices. Like most things that Honda makes, the infotainment systems that live in their vehicles just works.
The company has shown themselves to be responsive to feedback, fixing issues with future product releases cough, cough, volume knob. Their no-nonsense approach to infotainment is refreshing at a time when many other manufacturers try to jam as many features and settings into their systems as possible.
Digital Gauge Cluster In some Honda models like the Passport , an available digital display inside the gauge cluster mirrors the larger infotainment display for certain functions. One time it said it sent but never showed up on the car. What a waste of time and money! Paid for the subscription to be able to use the app as a remote. Really wanted to have an option of a remote start of my van in these hot days.
Was going to use this future to pre cool the vehicle in summer by remotely starting the engine. Instead I got a useless app that crashes my iPhone every time I want to do something in the app. It just shuts down my iPhone and I have to manually turn in on again. But this is not the worst part. The app is just useless in my case. It would NOT recognize my subscription. Just blank screen.
It shows me my vehicle at the top of the screen, but says that all my subscriptions have expired. All the fields are blank, like there is no connection to my vehicle. Very disappointed! By the way, the vehicle is Honda Odyssey Elite, and it has no problems, in my family everyone loves it. I hope that Honda will pay more attention to issues with their software. Edit: The app has gotten a LOT better. Does not crash that often. I can get in and start my car and do other things without it closing the app or freezing my phone.
