If you are interested in creating the Clonezilla live iso or zip file from scratch, check this doc. How to use Clonezilla live? Please refer to this doc for more details. Accounts In Clonezilla live, two accounts are available: 1 account "user" with sudo privilege, password is "live", 2 administration account "root", no password. Therefore you can not login as root, the only way to get root privilege is to login as user, and run "sudo -i" or "sudo su -" to become root.
For better security, it is recommended to change the passwords of user and root by command "passwd" before you allow remote access. Move the cursor to the device-image option, and then press the spacebar to select it.
Press the Enter key. This option will clone the hard disk as an image on another drive instead of on a partition. This option will let your clone the hard disk to an internal or external hard disk. For those people unused to Linux naming conventions, these are done alphabetically, therefore your first hard drive is named 'sda', the second 'sdb' and so on. If you're uncertain you also may be able to confirm which is the correct drive by checking its capacity on the left hand side.
The local disk you want to copy must be smaller in size than the external drive. Clonezilla will now ask you to choose the external drive into which the data will be cloned. If you only have one external drive connected, this will be the only option Clonezilla presents.
Remember that the target drive must have a larger capacity than the local disk, or the cloning process will fail. Once you've selected the target disk, you'll be asked to set extra parameters. In simplest terms, these are a way to interactively check and repair the local file system before cloning. Clonezilla will next ask you what to do once the cloning process is complete.
The first default option is to keep running and offer you the choice to reboot or shut down your machine. The other options are simply to reboot or shutdown respectively once the copy process is complete. Clonezilla will display a warning that any data already on the target drive will be deleted during the cloning process. Type 'Y', then press 'Enter' to proceed. Clonezilla will now ask you if you want to clone the local disk's boot loader.
If you want to make an exact copy of the drive enter 'Y', then press the 'Enter' key. Clonezilla can copy a variety of filesystems using 'dd'. This is managed by a program named 'Partclone'.
